"Pretty good shared spaces, just gets busy sometimes"
The communal areas in my Unite Students building are decent overall. The study room is handy when I need to focus, and the common room is nice if I just want to get out of my flat for a bit.
The only thing is it can get a little messy or crowded during busy times, which is normal, I guess. Staff usually sort it out fairly quickly though, so overall I’m happy with it.

"Slow replies about heater repair"
I reported the heater issue twice and it felt like it took forever to get someone out to look at it. The staff I spoke with were polite, but the communication wasn’t great. I had to keep chasing for updates and checking back through my emails to see if I’d missed anything. Would’ve been much better if they’d just kept me posted along the way

"Pretty quiet most days, but weekends are a hassle"
Most of the time the noise level is okay and I don’t really have any complaints, but weekends can get a bit loud. It’s not the worst, but having to deal with the extra noise when you’re just trying to relax gets annoying

"Security wasn’t what I expected"
I stayed with Unite Students and didn’t feel as safe as I thought I would. I expected student accommodation to feel secure, but doors were often left open and I didn’t really notice anyone checking who was coming in or out. I reported a few things, but the response felt slow and like it wasn’t taken that seriously. Maybe other Unite buildings are better, but in my experience the security side was disappointing and made living there more stressful than I expected

"I don’t know, I was expecting more for..."
I don’t know, I was expecting more for the money, but it just felt way too expensive for what you actually get. Like, I opened it thinking maybe there’d be something that made the price make sense, but nope, just not really worth it to me

"Wi-Fi is fine for everyday use"
The Wi-Fi has been decent for the most part. It does drop every now and then, which can be annoying if you’re in the middle of a call or streaming something, but for basic browsing and everyday use, it usually works fine.

I was frustrated with how hard it was to change the dates. It felt like something that should’ve been simple turned into a big hassle, and it made the whole experience feel more stressful than it needed to be

"Payment details were really confusing"
I booked my room and the whole payment part was way more confusing than it needed to be, there were extra charges and fees that weren’t explained clearly and I ended up having to keep asking just to get basic answers, which got really annoying. It felt like they only wanted to explain things after I already owed the money instead of being upfront from the start, so the whole experience was frustrating.

"Getting my deposit back was such a hassle"
Getting my deposit refunded was way more stressful than it should’ve been. It just dragged on and on, and every time I reached out to support, it felt like I wasn’t really getting anywhere. I can’t even explain it exactly, but the whole thing just left a really bad feeling.

"Complaint took ages to get resolved"
I had a problem with my room and put in a complaint, but it dragged on for weeks. The replies were slow and felt kind of copy-pasted, well, maybe not all of them, but most didn’t feel very personal. It did get sorted eventually, but only after I chased them several times. Not the worst experience, just really frustrating

I stayed here while visiting a friend nearby, and the location was a real letdown. It felt too far from everything I wanted to do, and the buses were so unreliable that getting around became a hassle.

When I moved in, I felt like I’d been handed someone else’s mess to deal with. There was dust everywhere, marks all over the walls, bits of old food in the kitchen, and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t had a proper clean in ages. I reported it, but I had to wait way too long for anyone to actually help, which was really frustrating when I just wanted to settle into my own space. For what I’m paying, I expected at least a clean room to start with. Disappointing experience for me overall...

I asked for help a few different times and just kept getting passed from one person to the next. it was painfully obvious nobody was even remotely interested in actually sorting it out. I’m completely sure I could’ve stood there all day and still gotten nowhere...

"Pretty smooth move-in, honestly just a bit of waiting"
Check-in was easy overall. The staff were friendly and explained where I needed to go, even though it was quite busy when I arrived.

My room was clean enough and everything seemed to be working fine. The only annoying part was having to wait a while for the lift, and it did feel a bit rushed with so many people moving in at the same time.

I had a small issue with my key card, but they sorted it out quickly. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a decent start and I’m happy with things so far.
